The water in the Garda Thermal Park of Villa dei Cedri flows abundantly from two underground aquifers at a depth of 160 and 200 m, both discovered in 1989. In the Park there are two thermal lakes: the Main Lake and the Small Lake. Both equipped with hydromassages, cervical fountains, waterfalls and geysers, and are illuminated in the evening also for night bathing. The Main Lake, which is located in front of the “Greenhouse-Winter Garden” and all its services, extends for approximately 5000 m2. The temperature is maintained around 33-34 °C . The bathing offer also includes 2 pools immersed in the lake and kept at a temperature of 37-39 °C . This lake already existed in the Park - which was built at the end of the eighteenth century - but with cold water. A characteristic of the entire complex is represented by the enormous scheduled water exchange. In fact, the lake, which contains approximately 5000 cubic meters of water, receives and discharges approximately 3500 cubic meters of water every day. In this way, a total turnover of the basin is guaranteed within less than 48 hours. The Piccolo Lake was restored a few years after the opening of the Thermal Park thanks to the discovery of a photograph taken at the end of the nineteenth century which testified to the existence of this lake in that period. The temperature of this lake is maintained around 29-30 °C in order to offer visitors the possibility of bathing at different temperatures.
